Jenna Marek: Championing Global Health Equity

Jenna, known for her passion for local and global health justice, received the HCMA/Rivero, Gordimer & Company scholarship. She’s the founder of the Morsani College’s Doctors Without Borders chapter and has tirelessly contributed to organizations like the Bridge Clinic, Tampa Bay Street Medicine Refugee Clinic, and Project World Health.

Jenna’s leadership shines through her various roles: class leader of the International Medicine Scholarly Concentration, organizing the inaugural post-COVID medical service trip to the Dominican Republic (awarded the 2023 Community Engagement Project of the Year), and aspiring to address global surgery inequities and provide pro-bono cardiac surgical care in underserved communities.

Pranit Singh: Bridging Public Health and Radiation Oncology

Pranit, with his dual interests in public health and radiation oncology, received the HCMA Foundation scholarship. He envisions combining these passions to improve population health outcomes. Before medical school, Pranit volunteered at free clinics, service centers for immigrant families, and even served with AmeriCorps and the New England Epilepsy Foundation.

Currently, Pranit co-directs the Tampa Bay Street Medicine Refugee Clinic, participates in the Florida AHEC Scholars Program, and researches how virtual reality can educate healthcare providers on cancer treatments. His dedication to service and innovative thinking are truly inspiring!
