Q. Some people think that instead of preventing climate change, we need to find a way to live with it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Ans. I disagree with the idea that we should focus on living with climate change instead of preventing it. We can to some degree adapt to it, but we must give priority to prevention. Climate change poses several risks to the planet such as a rise in sea levels, extreme weather conditions whether too hot or cold and loss of biodiversity. If individuals keep on focusing on living with these changes, they are accepting a future with much worse conditions. For instance, if we continue to ignore prevention, coastal cities could become uninhabitable due to frequent flooding and erosion. Moreover, efforts like reforestation and sustainable agriculture can help restore the balance of the ecosystem. But if one ignores prevention it would lead to more natural disasters, food shortages, and health crises. Therefore, it’s essential to act now to mitigate climate change, rather than just adapting to its impacts.
