Laura is currently working as a laboratory assistant and trainee andrologist at Midland Fertility. She received her job offer before graduation and has been working at the company since October. After her graduation, she was registered to train as an andrologist on the Association of Biomedical Andrologists (ABA) modular course. 

Pursuing BSc in Human Biology enabled her to study various topics including microbiology, pharmacology, genetics, neurobiology etc allowing her to explore many career options. She always dreamt of working in the field of reproductive biology and going to the University of Birmingham made her dream come true. The university gave many opportunities to learn about the field and gain relevant work experience to enhance her CV. She also had a great and supportive tutor who helped her in her studies and provided links to fertility links 

Oliver Hartwell

Course – BSc Biochemistry

Oliver is currently working at a company called Oxford Nanopore Technologies. He is working to develop a new generation of electronic molecular analysis systems which can be used in scientific research, crop science, personalised medicine, security/defence and more. All the skills he learnt at the University of Birmingham UK have been a huge benefit to him including understanding and utilising knowledge about proteins and applying essential business skills like preparing and presenting data. His university experience helped him to achieve his personal goals and develop the skills necessary for his job role. All the learning helped him to become an employable individual and how to effectively manage time and resources. Zainub Butt

Course: BSc Mathematics

Zainab is currently working as a Technology Data and Analytics Senior Associate at PwC. Initially, she was a bit unsure about what to do when she first joined the university. However, with the BSc Mathematics program of the university, she knew that studying maths would help her find many opportunities in top-notch companies. She was a frequent visitor at the careers fair of the university where she learnt more about various organizations where she could apply. Among all the companies, PwC piqued her interest, and she applied and successfully got the position.

Course – MSc Environmental Health 

Charley is currently working as an Enforcement Officer for the Environmental Health Department of the Birmingham City Council. Pursuing the MSc Environmental Health program at the University of Birmingham helped her to learn about integral topics such as food safety, health and safety, health protection, environmental pollution and protection and more. After completing the program, she completed a Student Placement with Birmingham City Council which provided her an enriching experience in the field.

Course – BA Education

Gaby is the director and founder of an award-winning podcast and education platform called Talk Twenties for young people. Studying at the University of Birmingham specifically and the School of Education played an important role in forming her career and eventually setting up her business. She learned that there is no need for you to accept the thing as it is and there is always room for making a positive change if you are brave enough and have passion in your heart.
