The Federal Skilled Workers Program is one of the immigration programs under the express entry system. The list contains a total of 370 occupations that you can be eligible for. Federal Skilled Worker Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker eligibility criteria, you must have work experience, appropriate educational qualifications, and meet the age and language requirements in French or English. Those who meet the requirements are selected under the Express Entry category for PR.
- Must have completed at least 1 year of full-time work. Equivalent part-time work experience in the previous 10 years is also considered. However, you must be employed in any 1 of the 370 occupations as provided by the National Occupational Classification system. This occupation list is also called the temporary skill shortage list Canada.
- Additionally, you need work experience within the TEER sections. That is, 0 (management work), 2, (work that required an apprenticeship training of two or more years, a diploma, or a supervisory role), 1 (work that requires a university degree), 3 (work that requires an apprenticeship training of a maximum of 2 years, a college diploma, or 6 months of on the job training.
- You must also meet the minimum requirement of 67 points under the skilled worker point grid consisting of 6 selection factors.
- You also must undergo a medical examination and security clearance check
- Must also have an intermediate level of English language proficiency. That is, at least the Candian language benchmark of 7).
