SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme: Eligibility, Registration Process

Science Olympiad Foundation has recently started the SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme for Indian girl children. This scholarship scheme aims to provide financial assistance to girls from economically weaker sections. The main objective of the scheme is to help these girls pursue their higher studies without any financial hindrance. There are also different scholarships for girls available in India. 

300 needy girls are selected on a nomination basis who are academically bright. A nomination form is sent to the school with a prospectus to select the meritorious girls for the scholarship.  The selected girls will be then awarded INR 5,000 each for a year under the SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme.

SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme Selection Criteria

To get selected for the SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme a school has to follow certain criteria on the basis of which a student will be eligible to receive the financial aid money. Let’s have a look at the list of selection criteria that is required for this scholarship scheme: 

• The school has to send a proposal recommending a girl child for the scholarship. 
• A school can recommend one girl child only. 
• The recommendation should only be signed by the Principal/ Headmaster/ Headmistress.
• She should have scored at least 60% of the marks in the previous class. 
• Every proposal will be evaluated by a committee set up by SOF. 
• The qualified students will be notified individually and through their respective schools.
• Only Delhi courts will have authority over any disputes.
