The Cummins India Foundation (CIF) initiated the Cummins Scholarship Program, Nurturing Brilliance for students who are not financially and socially strong to pursue a professional degree or diploma for Engineering courses. This initiative was undertaken by CIF in the year 2006 and has, since then, provided scholarships to over 1700 students. 

Cummins also entrusts the scholars to its senior employees, who shall provide guidance to the selected students. These mentors guide the selected candidates throughout the entire course.

Awards under Nurturing Brilliance: Cummins Scholarship Program 

The students will be awarded four benefits in total under this scholarship program. 

The selected students will be given admission fees, tuition fees, and reimbursement of stationery of up to INR 1,500 per semester or INR 3,000/- per year. Students will also be provided with laptops for Engineering degrees

Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates who are currently pursuing a degree/diploma in Engineering, from a recognized institute by the University Grants Commission/State Government/Central Government are eligible for applications. The students must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the Nurturing Brilliance, Cummins Scholarship Program. The eligibility criteria are discussed below:

  • The age limit for the candidates is 25 years or below. 
  • The scholarship can be only awarded to students who are studying in and around Ahmednagar, Indore (Pitampura&Dewas), Jamshedpur, Phaltan & Pune, only. 
  • Candidates must have 60% marks in their higher secondary or secondary examinations and are further pursuing Engineering Degree/Diploma from a recognized university/institution. 
  • Students who are giving the exam for the last year of their Engineering Degree/Diploma and postgraduate students are not eligible for the application. 
  • The preference will be given to first or second-year students of degree/diploma. 
  • Students in the first, second and third years of Engineering (Degree) are eligible for application. 
  • Students in the first or second year of their Degree/Diploma can also apply for the scholarship. Candidates must have secured at least 60% in all their previous examinations. 
  • The students’ family income must not exceed more than INR 3,000,00/- per annum. 
  • The scholarship is not available to students whose family member has already availed of the scholarship. 

Application Process for Nurturing Brilliance: Cummins Scholarship Program 

The application forms will be available on the official website of the Cummins Scholarship Program. Students need to click on the ‘apply link’ of the scholarship program and they need to register themselves. Candidates should note that incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Further, students must enter authentic data into the application. The data will be verified by the authority. If anything is found incorrect or inauthentic the scholarship application will be rejected or withdrawn. 

Steps for Applying

  • First students need to register. They will receive login id credentials. 
  • Enter the details and log in. 
  • The application will open on the screen. 
  • Fill in all the details like basic information, educational qualification, family background etc. 
  • Save all the details till you reach the last page of the application. 
  • Submit the application and enter the OTP you have received. 
  • Take out printed copies of the application for reference.

  • Scanned signature
  • Aadhaar Card
  • 10TH/12TH/Graduation/any other certificate (if applicable)

Selection Process for Nurturing Brilliance: Cummins Scholarship Program 

The decision about selecting and rejecting candidates will be final and binding on the candidates. The steps that will follow the application for the selection of students are as follows:

  • After filling out the application, the candidates will be called in for an aptitude test. 
  • Candidates who clear the aptitude test will be called in for a personal interview.
  • Shortlisted candidates from the personal interview round will be requested to mail all the supporting documents for the scholarship. 
  • The candidates who get selected for the scholarship will be updated with an email or SMS.

Students will receive the scholarship amount till the date of his/her completion of the academic course and also till the student secures an aggregate of a minimum of 60% in each  semester/year.

No, only students belonging to Pune, Indore, Phaltan, Jamshedpur, and Ahmednagar are eligible for application for the Cummins Scholarship Program.
