World Social Work Day (March 21)

Every year World Social Work Day is observed on the third Tuesday of March. This year it will be observed on 21 March to celebrate the efforts and diligence of social workers for their contribution, and achievements and also for spreading awareness to unite and work together for the betterment of society. Social workers are advocates for social justice, social development and human rights as well to promote the best practices of social work to serve communities.

History 

The International Federation of Social Workers (I.F.S.W) promotes this day. Since 1983, this federation, an international and non-governmental organization has come together with many other organizations to enable international cooperation and acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of social workers. On a global scale, the National Association of Social Workers (N.A.S.W) is the largest membership organization for social workers. This organization provides a platform for the professional growth of its members and also creates and maintains professional standards and advances sound policies for social workers.
