Speech 1: I would like to wish the esteemed Principal Sir, the professors, and my close pals a very good morning. Hi, my name is In class, I’m studying standard. My dear friends, we have convened here to commemorate the momentous event of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday on October 2nd. The founding father of the country was born on this date in 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. This holiday is very important to us. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is the full name of Mahatma Gandhi, but he is better known as Gandhiji, the father of the nation, and Bapu around the world. Bapu’s birthday is commemorated nationwide as Gandhi Jayanti, but the International Day of Non-Violence is observed worldwide on that day.

Bapu was born in a tiny village, yet his tremendous actions spread over the entire world since no one could stop them. He was the type of person who insisted on obtaining British authority very softly and by non-violence. He was a pioneer of nonviolence and believed that it was the only practical means of achieving independence from British domination. Bapu was a renowned freedom fighter who dedicated his entire life to the cause of India’s independence.

Together with Gopal Krishna Gokhale, he began taking part in numerous independence struggles after becoming aware of the true suffering of Indians. His initiatives for India’s independence included civil disobedience, non-cooperation, and leave India movements. He spent a lot of time in jail, yet he never lost the will to fight without violence. Bapu’s entire life has been established as a great example of patriotism, sacrifice, nonviolence, simplicity, and firmness (for us and future generations). Every year, the Indian people make extensive preparations to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. 

The main aim behind the celebration of this day is to honour Bapu and educate the next generation about all the sacrifices he made to achieve independence from British tyranny. I’d want to read a speech to you all since, as we are all aware, we are here to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, a lovely event. My dear friends, today is Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and the second of October. Every year, we celebrate this day with great enthusiasm to honour the nation’s founding father and to recall his valiant actions throughout the fight for the nation’s freedom from British domination. Gandhi Jayanti is one of the most important national holidays in India. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is the full name of Mahatma Gandhi.

Since he preached non-violence throughout his life, the 2 October is also recognised as the International Day of Non-Violence around the world. On June 15, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed October 2 as International Day of Nonviolence.

He was born on October 2nd, 1869, in a little town (Porbunder, Gujarat), but he lived a life filled with heroic acts. He was a lawyer who graduated from law school in the United Kingdom and worked in South Africa. In his autobiography, “My Experiments with Truth,” he detailed a life filled with struggle.

Gandhiji set an example for us by leading a humble life and having great ideals. He was adamantly opposed to non-vegetarianism, drinking, smoking, and untouchability. The Indian government has today fully outlawed selling alcohol for the entire day. The Satyagraha movement for India’s independence was launched by him as a leader of truth and nonviolence. In order to honour Gandhiji, many preparations are made at the Raj Ghat in New Delhi, including prayers, flower offerings, playing his favourite song, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sita Ram,” and other activities.
