It is very difficult for me to cope with the fact that you don’t live here anymore because your father got transferred to another city. I miss you and I can’t even imagine how difficult it would be for you to adjust to a new place. But this is life. We have to make the best of the present, that is why I am advising you to try and adjust to your new home. In the beginning, I know it would be difficult for you—a new place, new people, a new locality, a new school, kind of a new life—but it will get easier, and after a little while, it will feel like home to you. You should get to know your neighbours and make new friends at your new school. When you are free, take a stroll out in your colony and interact with people there. All this will help you get acquainted with the new place. And with time, you will feel just like here. Don’t worry, periodically we can visit each other and during vacations, we can stay at each other’s home. It will be fun. I am trying to miss you too much, but I do, hence I thought of writing this letter. All of our friends miss you and everybody told me to say “Hi” to you from their side. I hope you get comfortable at your new place soon. And when you do, write to me. Give my regards to your parents and call me when you are free. Till then, take care of yourself. I was finding it difficult to accept the fact that you don’t live here anymore, and that made me miss you a lot, so I thought, Why not write a letter to you? I hope that you are settled in your new home in the new city, Delhi and that all your furniture and everything else has arrived there properly. I know that it must be very difficult for you to relocate to a new city, leaving your old life behind. If I am finding it this difficult, I cannot even fathom how much you would miss your old home. I, along with all of our colony friends, miss you a lot. And I know you would be missing us a lot as well, but you should try to get comfortable and adjust to your new home. What you can do is get to know your neighbours, make friends in your new colony, and interact with people there. When you are free, go to the markets nearby, explore them, and visit other areas like museums, movie theatres, malls, etc. All this will help you settle into the new city easily. Try the street food there and let me know how you find the taste of the same. I am sure that with time, you will adjust there easily, and then you won’t miss your old home as much. I will visit you once my summer vacations start. You can also visit me when you find time. It will be like a little road trip for either of us. Living in different cities is a plus because visiting each other will be like a little trip. Once you are settled there properly, write to me, or call me. I will be waiting to hear from you.
