The chugging and stunning views of the train were a straight experience out of a storybook. But do you think that is all? No, my friend. The trekking along the Singalila Ridge Trail was simply spectacular. Can you imagine yourself standing at the edge of a cliff and looking at the snow-capped peaks of Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest, with all their beauty? The moment was indefinable and reminded me of nature´s magnificence and beauty. I also had the chance to visit a local tea estate and learn about the process of tea production. The workers on the tea estate were skilled and passionate about their craft. I also got to try my hands at plucking the tea leaves, and believe me, it was not as easy as we thought. With this, I realise how much effort goes into producing that perfect cup of Darjeeling tea we love so much. The trip to Darjeeling has been an absolute dream so far. My level of excitement raised a bar when I saw the beautiful carpet weaving process wove by the skilled locals with utmost patience. The beautiful works of those left me in wonder. The centre also had a museum showcasing Tibetan culture and history, and I learned so much about their flexibility and tradition. But the highlight of my visits was Ghoom Monastery, which is also popularly known as Yiga Choeling. As we entered the beautiful religious house, the aroma and the sound of chanting monks created an atmosphere of pure calmness. I had the opportunity to mediate and reflect in the sacred place. Trust me Srijan, the experience was truly one like no other. I even got special blessings from one of the monks of the monastery which I will cherish forever. Next, I went to the magnificent Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which was enriched with an incredible exhibition on the history of mountain climbing in the region. Seeing the actual gear and equipment used by legendary mountaineers like Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary was the experience of the next level. This was not all. I also visited the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, which was like stepping into a fairytale. glimpse of adorable Pandas on branches of trees, and the snow leopards gave me goosebumps. Furthermore, it was heartwarming to see these endangered species being protected and cared for carefully. Darjeeling has been an absolute dream place. Srijan, every moment of this beautiful hill station has filled my heart with wonder, adventure, and a deep appreciation. I cannot wait to share all my experiences with you in person.
