Easy Speech on Privacy in the Digital Age

Hello and good morning to one and all present here. My name is Peter and today I am going to present before you a speech on Privacy in the Digital Age. Since digitalization is afoot and it has become a topic of utmost concern, I hope I will be able to convey my thoughts on the same to you.

Digitalization, the term when heard gives an image in our minds showing translucent computer screens, VRs, all the “Iron Man” type gadgets, and whatnot. To a great extent, we humans have already made leaps and bounds of progress in the field of technology i.e. digital field. Digitalization is upon us. The pace with which digitalization has taken place is great and hence, it has touched every aspect of our lives. We start our day by checking our notifications on our phones, we stay connected via texts and calls, we share information digitally, make payments digitally, etc. But have you ever thought about the personal data that is generated by all these actions and the privacy of the same? Yes, these everyday digital activities generate a lot of data that is personal to us. The privacy of the same is our right. We have the right to privacy in the digital age. There are a lot of third parties that try and retrieve this data for their use and that is a violation of privacy. My data should be exclusive to me only. In today’s world, this data is seen as an exploitation opportunity by various companies and hence we need to be aware and alert because we can maintain our data privacy. There are a lot of ways that can enhance the privacy of our data even in this digital age. We can use Anti-virus software on our laptops and mobile phones. This software not only protects our machines from viruses but also makes sure our data privacy is maintained.

Another way of doing this is by creating strong passwords for our accounts. Every device has privacy settings built in and what we can do is optimize them to tougher settings and disable the tracking settings as well. We should not click on any link that has been shared with us from an unreliable source. We as users need to become more aware and cautious in this digital age to protect our digital privacy. All our information should be confidential and shouldn’t be exploited by any individual. If today we become aware, our privacy will be maintained. This can be done by making more and more people aware of it. Digitalization is essential, but we should not just sit without any idea about our privacy in this digital age. We must act and make our data exclusive to us only.
