Impact of Globalisation

Speech is one of the best ways to express our thoughts. In our school duration, we polish this skill and build on it to be able to convey our thoughts more clearly. One such time we improve on it is the ASL or Assessment of Speaking and Listening. It is an integral part of the CBSE Class IX and X curriculum. It is a part of the comprehensive and continuous evaluation system under CBSE in which the students usually have to choose a topic they wish to speak on and then prepare a speech on it within a limited time duration. In this blog, we have curated samples of speech on Impact of Globalisation, for ASL and public speaking competitions. Let’s have a look at the same.

Speech on Impact of Globalisation for 2-3 minutes

Good morning respected authorities, my name is Jake and today I am going to present before you a speech on Impact of Globalisation. I hope that I will be able to convey my thoughts to you.

To put it simply, globalization is a process where the integration of the Indian economy is done with that of the world economy. Globalization isn’t something recent, it has been taking place for the past hundred years, although the difference is that it has sped up greatly over the last half-century. It is an economic process that includes interaction as well as association with cultural as well as social aspects. If I were to explain it in other words, I would say that it is a method of interaction and union among corporations, people, and governments universally. Majorly, there 5 different types of globalisations such as:-

  • Economic Globalisation
  • Cultural Globalisation
  • Technological globalisation
  • Financial Globalisation
  • Political Globalisation

Now, when we think of globalization in terms of the economy then we can say that it is associated with the development of capitalism. I will say that the very introduction of globalization has led to development in terms of economic freedom and hence increased the standard of living on a global level. In support of the same, I want to mention that it has fastened up the process of offshoring and outsourcing due to which the transnational companies now get the opportunity to exploit medium as well as small-sized enterprises at a low price intensively that too on a worldwide scale. Outsourcing, in recent times, has also increased because of the quick increase in methods of communication, especially in the growth of the IT sector.

All in all, I would like to state that the impact of globalization is much more than meets the eye, especially for the economy of a country. Shortly, it is likely to even expand based on the rate at which the technology as well as the world is progressing.

Speech on Impact of Globalisation for 5-8 minutes

Good morning respected authorities, my name is Aditi and today I am going to present before you a speech on Impact of Globalisation. I hope that I will be able to convey my thoughts to you.

Globalization is one of the new ways to open businesses. It touches on a lot of aspects such as technological growth, economy, etc that too on an international level. It has become a way for the manufacturers and producers of products to sell their products globally that too without any restriction. Globalization provides big profits to businessmen as they can get low-cost labor easily through globalisation. One of the best aspects of globalization is that it allows any country so it can participate, set up or even merge industries, invest in equity or share, etc, any country.

Now, coming to how globalization works. See, it helps multiple markets to consider the whole world as a single market. As a result of the same, traders are expanding their business area by taking into account the world as a global village. Now, in the 1990s, there were certain restrictions on importing of certain products that were manufactured already in India such as engineering goods, agricultural products, food items, toiletries, etc. In that era, there was pressure from the rich countries over the World Trade Organisation, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund to allow countries to spread their business by opening trade and marketing in poor or developing countries. In India, the globalisation and liberalization process began in the year 1991 under the Union Finance Minister (Manmohan Singh).

After a lot of years, it has finally brought a major revolution in the Indian market. A lot of multinational brands such as PepsiCo, KFC, McDonald’s, Boomer chewing gum, Nokia, etc have finally started delivering a wide range of quality products at affordable prices. All the dominating brands have given a tremendous boost to the industrial sector economy hence showing the real revolution of Globalisation. It is great to see the prices of quality products getting down because of the cut-throat competition in the market. Indian market is now flooding with quality foreign products however it is affecting the local Indian industries adversely resulting in the job loss of poor and uneducated workers.

Globalisation has also affected the health sector a lot because of the globalization of common medicines, electronic health monitoring machines, etc. In the agriculture sector, globalization has brought a variety of seeds having disease resistance, although it is not good for poor Indian farmers because the cost of agricultural technologies and seeds is higher.

In conclusion, I would like to say that Globalisation is positively essential for society as well as the country to progress and become developed. However, on the other hand, it has given rise to competition, anti-national activities, etc. so together with happiness, it has indeed brought some sadness as well.
