Phase 2: Appear in XLRI Aptitude Test

The process to get into XLRI University starts from the phase of the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). It is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by XLRI on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). The XAT exam is held in January every year, and it tests candidates on various parameters such as English language skills, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and decision-making skills.

Phase 3: Participate in XAT GD and PI Processes

Group Discussion (GD): Candidates who clear the XAT exam are shortlisted for the second phase of the XLRI admission process, which is the Group Discussion (GD). The GD is conducted to test the candidate’s communication skills, leadership qualities, and ability to work in a team. The topics for the GD are usually related to current affairs, business, and economics.

Personal Interview (PI): The final phase of the XLRI admission process is the Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who clear the GD are called for the PI, which is conducted by a panel of experts. The PI is conducted to test the candidate’s personality, attitude, and motivation. During the PI, the panel may ask questions related to the candidate’s academic background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and general knowledge.

Based on the overall performance of the candidate, the university will release XLRI cut-off list. The final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the written, GD, and PI stages.
