XLRI 2023 Admission Process
Over the past decade, XLRI has introduced numerous management courses through the entrance test of XAT. The XLRI admission process through the aptitude test consists of four phases. Here are the details of each phase:
Phase 1: Fill Out XLRI Application Form
The application process for XLRI is online, and candidates can apply for multiple courses through the same application form. Before filling out the application form, make sure to have all the necessary documents such as mark sheets, work experience certificates, and a valid photo ID. The application fee for XLRI is INR 1800 which needs to be submitted as a final process of the XAT application.
Phase 2: Appear in XLRI Aptitude Test
The process to get into XLRI University starts from the phase of the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). It is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by XLRI on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). The XAT exam is held in January every year, and it tests candidates on various parameters such as English language skills, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Phase 3: Participate in XAT GD and PI Processes
Group Discussion (GD): Candidates who clear the XAT exam are shortlisted for the second phase of the XLRI admission process, which is the Group Discussion (GD). The GD is conducted to test the candidate’s communication skills, leadership qualities, and ability to work in a team. The topics for the GD are usually related to current affairs, business, and economics.
Personal Interview (PI): The final phase of the XLRI admission process is the Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who clear the GD are called for the PI, which is conducted by a panel of experts. The PI is conducted to test the candidate’s personality, attitude, and motivation. During the PI, the panel may ask questions related to the candidate’s academic background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and general knowledge.
Phase 4: Wait for XLRI Cut-off List
Based on the overall performance of the candidate, the university will release XLRI cut-off list. The final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the written, GD, and PI stages. XLRI also considers academic records, work experience, and extracurricular activities during the selection process.
The admission process of XLRI requires a candidate to appear in Xavier Aptitude Test, followed by an interview round. Those who succeed in both the aptitude test and interview round are eligible for enrolling in their applied management course.
The eligibility criteria for XLRI differ for each program. For the flagship program, i.e., the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a candidate should have a minimum of three years of work experience and a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. For the other programs, such as the Human Resource Management Program (HRM) and the Business Management Program (BM), the eligibility criteria are slightly different.
