Kanya Utthan Scholarship: Types and Benefits
Under the flagship of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, there are two major incentive schemes:
- Mukhyamantri Balika Madhyamik (10+2) Protsahan Yojana: Unmarried girl students who pass the Class 12 (Intermediate) examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) are eligible for a one‑time cash incentive of INR 25,000, disbursed directly into their bank accounts via DBT.
- Mukhyamantri Balika Snatak Protsahan Yojana: Unmarried female graduates from any government‑recognized college or university in Bihar receive a one‑time reward of INR 50,000 upon successful completion of their bachelor’s degree, also paid through DBT.

Eligibility Criteria for Kanya Utthan Scholarship in 2025
The following is the eligibility criteria for Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana Scholarship in 2025. The applicant must
- Be a girl student.
- Be a permanent resident of Bihar.
- Belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
- Must be unmarried when the award is given.
- For the 10+2 incentive:
- Passed Class 12 from the Bihar School Examination Board in the current cycle.
- Secured First Division (60% or above) in that exam.
- For the graduate incentive:
- Completed a bachelor’s degree from a Bihar-recognized college or university in the current cycle.
