CAT Result: The Common Admission Test(CAT) is an India Exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) every year on a rotational basis. IIM Calcutta will conduct the exam this year which was conducted by IIM Lucknow during 2023. CAT result 2024 is expected to be announced in December as CAT result 2023 result was announced on 21st December. Every year more than 20 lakh students appear in the examination. How to Download CAT Exam 2024 Results?
The result of the CAT 2024 will be announced after 20 to 30 days of the examination on the IIM CAT website. Candidates can follow the given step-by-step process to download a scorecard that contains overall and sectional marks along with the percentile.
- First visit the CAT website iimcat.ac.in.
- Click on the icon that is displaying the CAT 2024 result tab
- Type the CAT application number and password in the given section.
- After that click on the section of the scorecard
- Candidates can save the pdf of the CAT 2024 scorecard by clicking on the download option.
Cutoff Marks Required in CAT Exam 2024

How to Calculate CAT Exam 2024 Percentile?
The candidates can calculate the CAT percentile by using the formula where they have to know about certain details such as rank, number of candidates appeared, percentile score etc. They can calculate the CAT percentile for each section. Let’s take the example of the DILR section for calculating the percentile score
- The first step is to calculate the total number of candidates(N) who appeared in both the sessions(morning and afternoon) of the CAT exam.
- The ranks(r) can be assigned to the candidate based on DILR section scaled scores. If the scores of several candidates are the same, they will be given the same ranks.
- In the third step, the percentile score(P) of the candidate can be calculated using rank(r) in the DILR section using the formula
P=[(N-r)/N] x 100
By using the same method the candidate can do percentile score calculations of other sections as well as the total percentile score of CAT. It can also help in comparing the performance of the candidate with others and categorize accordingly.

Selection Process for CAT Exam 2024
The students undergo a selection process for IIMs which starts by clearing the CAT examination. They can get admission to 20 IIMs and other MBA colleges in India through the exam. Candidates from across India participate in the examination to enroll in PGP courses in the top IIMs. The step-by-step selection process for IIMs are
- In the first step, candidates are selected based on CAT score.
- In the second stage, some of the top IIM conducts a Written Ability Test(WAT)-Personal Interview(PI) round.
- The last stage is where the candidate gets the final selection and offer letter for admission to the IIMs.
