JEMAT Selection Process 2023
The JEMAT 2023 exam selection framework is segmented into three steps, the written JEMAT Exam, Group Discussion / Personal Interview Rounds, and the Counselling Round.
The Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds are used to assess applicants’ intellectual aptitude and understanding of the subjects of business and management. The authorities impose extra strain on the handpicked layer of candidates to scrutinise and evaluate their capacity to deal with convoluted business/management-based problems. These rounds are used to assess not only applicants’ textbook knowledge but also their grasp of the subject and their ability to apply that information in real-life settings.
JEMAT (2023) Written Exam
JEMAT, or the Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test, is a state-level exam held each year by MAKAUT, or the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, to admit promising contenders in West Bengal’s leading business colleges. Individuals intending to pursue an MBA and build viable career trajectories for themselves in the field of business and management are therefore urged to take the exam.
The JEMAT 2023 questionnaire is made up of 50 objective-based questions pertaining to the subjects of English, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning. Candidates sitting for the exam are required to complete the written exam within 60 minutes. Aspirants intending to take the exam should completely examine the questionnaire before tackling the questions as there will be questions that appear complex or confusing to answer, resulting in the selection of erroneous responses. This can result in a 0.25-mark deduction for incorrect responses. In addition, attempting them may waste time and energy. As a result, it is recommended that participants review their responses before selecting the preferred option. For each correct answer, candidates will receive one point.
Group Discussion
The Group Activity/Group discussion involves screening applicants based on their contributions to the debate on the given subjects within a constrained time limit. In this stage, candidates are judged based on their involvement, communication abilities, and in-depth knowledge of the subject. These rounds are used to assess an applicant’s intellectual capacity and comprehension of the Business and Management disciplines. Candidates called for the GD rounds are evaluated based on how well they understand the subject matter.
Personal Interview
In the Personal interview round, the interviewer and the candidate meet in person or are connected via online mode. Applicants in this stage are evaluated based on their communication abilities and aptitude for the Business/Management Field. Apart from that, candidates are also assessed on their presence of mind, overall personality, and communication/soft skills.
