DGDE SDO Exam Pattern

The DGDE exam pattern for the test conducted in the year 2022 contains four subjects. The test paper would be in both Hindi ad English. All those candidates who are shortlisted will have to appear for a skill test to test their capability of handling an electronic total station and other aspects of land survey. This skill test will be conducted 2 days after the exam.

DGDE SDO Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to apply for the position of DGDE SDO have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria. Keep in mind that all the relevant documents need to be present at the time of document verification. Check the eligibility criteria below.

• Educational qualifications- Needs to be matriculation passed with a diploma or needs to have a certificate in surveying or draftsmanship (civil) of not less than 2 years.
• Age limit- Has to be between 18-27 years of age

DGDE SDO Selection Process

To become a sub-divisional officer in the ministry of defense you would have to undergo the selection process which involves

1. Written Examination– A written examination is conducted for 150 marks for 2 hours. The questions would be in both- Hindi and English. 
2. Skill test– Those who qualify for the written examination are called for a skill test to access their ability to conduct a Land survey and Electronic Total Station. The skill test is usually taken for the shortlisted candidates on the second day after the written examination. 

DGDE SDO Application Process

The application process for the ministry of defense SDO recruitment is offline. You would have to apply to the Principal Director of Defense Estate, Sother Command by 15th January 2022.  Candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti, Districts and Pangi, Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands have been given 2 weeks extra to submit their application.

Candidates can pay their application fee through demand draft in favor of ‘The Principal Directorate Of Defence Estates Southern Command, Pune. Candidates belonging to the general category are only required to pay the application fee. For others, fees are exempted.

DGDE SDO Salary

The DGDE Sub Divisional Officer salary is from 3000 to 34,800 INR. In addition to this DGDE, SDO will receive their Grade Pay + 4200 INR. That is based on the 6th level of the 7th Central Pay Commission. This salary includes standard deductions of several benefits.
