After losing his parents at an early age, he was raised by his grandfather, Mahavir Prasad, who was also a well-known calligrapher. It was under his grandfather’s guidance that Raizada learned the refined art of calligraphy using traditional Indian styles.
Raizada received his education at St. Stephen’s College (now under the University of Delhi)—one of India’s most prestigious institutions. He studied English literature and was known for his refined tastes and scholarly interests. Despite his academic background in English, his love for traditional Indian art forms, especially calligraphy, remained strong.
