One of the most popular full form of RAF is the Rapid Action Force, a special wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) of India that handles riot and crowd control situations. The RAF was established in 1991 and has its headquarters in New Delhi.
RAF went fully operational in 1992 and has been sent to various states to keep peace, stop violence, and safeguard public property. It wears a unique uniform with a blue camouflage pattern that represents peace with the motto “Serving Humanity with Sensitive Policing”.
The RAF has 15 specially trained and equipped battalions for its tasks. They are numbered 83 to 108, 114 and 194 in the CRPF. A Commanding Officer (CO) leads each battalion, and each team has three components: riot control, tear smoke, and fire.
There is also a team of women personnel in each company of RAF to deal with women protesters. The force uses non-lethal weapons to disperse the crowd with minimal damage and losses. The force is always ready for quick deployment when needed and is only deployed by the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs on specific requests from state governments for a short period.

Another popular full form of RAF is the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom, the oldest independent air force in the world, created in 1918 by merging the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Flying Corps.
The RAF’s duties include defending the UK’s airspace, carrying out air operations, providing humanitarian aid, and supporting other British Armed Forces branches. Its motto is “Per Ardua ad Astra”, which means “Through Adversity to the Stars”.
