Western Sydney University, originally the University of Western Sydney, is a multi-campus Australian university located in Sydney's Greater Western district. The university was established in 1989 as a federated network university after the merger of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College and the Nepean College of Advanced Education. The university is affiliated with AACSB International, ACU, AHURI, IRU, AMC, CAPA, IAU and Universities Australia. WSU is ranked #=494 in the QS World University Rankings 2022 and #201-250 in THE World University Rankings 2022, respectively. WSU is also ranked #247 in the US News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2022.

The campuses are well-connected to local transit hubs via free shuttles.
