During the demise of the coal and steel industries in the Ruhr region, the University of Dortmund was established in 1968. Its founding was regarded as a crucial step in the economy's transition from heavy industries to technology. Its affiliation is with UA Ruhr - University Alliance Ruhr. Tu Dortmund University ranked #525 in Best Global Universities.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
Tu Dortmund University has 16 faculties that cover a variety of academic fields, including science, engineering, social sciences, and culture studies. The university also has five connected institutes, including the German Institute for Civic Art, seven associated research institutes, four core scientific institutions, and a center for teacher preparation. The North and South campuses of Technical University Dortmund are separated by a few kilometers from the city center.
