Established in 1834, Taras Shevchenko National University Of Kyiv is a public university and was formerly known as the Kyiv Imperial institute of Saint Vladimir, named after Saint Vladimir, the emperor who Christianized the Kievan Rus. located in Kyiv, Ukraine. The institution has been renamed various times before naming it the Taras Shevchenko National University Of Kyiv. The institute has affiliations with the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the European University Association (EUA). The Taras Shevchenko National University Of Kyiv is one of the top universities in Ukraine and ranks #651 - 700 in QS World University Rankings 2023.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The main campus of Taras Shevchenko National University is situated at 60 Vladimirska Street in Kyiv. It is surrounded by faculty buildings and monuments. The campus has the Red Building, Botanical Gardens, Yellow Building, Maksymovych Library, and various others. Apart from this, the institution also has faculties situated on Glushkov and Vasylkivska Streets. The academic structure of the institution is divided into fifteen academic faculties and five schools. It provides programs in the subject areas of Accounting and Finance, Geography, Geology, Information Technology, History, and various others.

The Taras Shevchenko National University Of Kyiv is one of the top universities in Ukraine. The institution has been awarded various awards from the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and branches of the national academies of sciences, Orders of Merit, and Orders of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The institution throughout its history has produced numerous notable alumni including Iryna Bekeshkina a sociologist and policy scholar, Yurii Chekan, a musicologist, and a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, and Theodosius Dobzhansky, a prominent Ukrainian-American geneticist and evolutionary biologist.
