Sungkyunkwan University, located in South Korea, is a well-known private comprehensive research university. Sungkyunkwan University is one of the country's most prestigious universities, with an international reputation to follow. The university's roots may be traced back to the historical Sungkyunkwan, which was founded by the Joseon Dynasty in 1398. The university is accredited by Confucianism. SKKU has displayed significant academic leadership from its inception as a royal Confucian institution in 1398 at the commencement of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). SKKU has evolved into a premier institution in Asia and throughout the world as a result of its embrace of globalisation. "Sungkyunkwan" is a word that conjures up images of both tradition and innovation. "An institution for establishing a peaceful community of enlightened human beings," the university's name literally means. Sungkyunkwan's foundational ideology was as necessary in the past as it is in today's technologically evolved world. Faculty members at the university are dedicated to high-quality teaching and research, providing students with a challenging environment in which to develop intellectually and personally. According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, the university is ranked #97 and according to THE World University Rankings 2022, the university is ranked #=122. Furthermore, the U.S. News Best Global Universities 2022 has ranked Sungkyunkwan University #230 in the world. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Humanities and Social Sciences Campuses are the two campuses of Sungkyunkwan University. Both campuses provide learning environments that are deemed favourable to learning. A Learning Factory is located on the Natural Sciences Campus in Suwon, where innovative ideas are turned into prototype products using laser cutters, 3D printers, Arduino, and CNC routers. The college provides on-campus housing for its pupils. Ten dormitories and accommodation facilities are available on the Humanities and Social Sciences campus in Seoul, while five are available on the Natural Sciences campus. Students can pick from a variety of general, special, and professional level programmes at Sungkyunkwan University. These courses are available in a range of fields, including law, liberal arts, economics, social sciences, engineering, software, pharmacy, and sports science, among others. 

Accomplishments and Alumni

The university's motto, "Su-Gi-Chi-In," means "Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, Wisdom," and educates students to strive to develop themselves and contribute to society. This philosophy is the guiding concept that has resulted in the university producing a large number of significant leaders who have contributed to the growth of Korean society. Sungkyunkwan University aspires to educate future global leaders with these principles in order to contribute to the growth of humankind as a whole. In order to create exceptional individuals capable of guiding society toward a brighter future, the University continues to merge its founding ideology with current technologies. Apart from providing high-quality education, the university is well-known for its remarkable graduates who have made important contributions to their disciplines. Such notable members include Song Joong-Ki (South Korean Actor), Hwang Kyo-Ahn (Former Prime Minister of South Korea), Lee Jong-Seok (Former Minister of Unification)

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

The institution has a large number of overseas students, who make up around 10% of the total undergraduate student body. The number of overseas students at the university increased to over 1,000 in 2011. In 2013, the university had over 2700 international students enrolled. Currently, there are a total of 26,000 students enrolled in Sungkyunkwan University with an academic staff of 1500 members. The university has partnerships with 653 universities and has agreements in place with 21 international institutions to offer dual-degree programmes.
