History, Affiliations and Rankings 

Seoul National University was founded in 1946 and its origin can be traced back to the late nineteenth century. It was when Korean Emperor Gojong established modern higher education institutions which later on went on to become a part of SNU. In 1895 Imperial Order 49 was issued by Emperor Gojong which established the Legal Training School as the first modern higher education institution in Korea. The university is affiliated with the Association of East Asian Research Universities, Washington University in St. Louis, and the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs. The university is ranked #36 in QS World University Rankings 2022 and #41 as per Times Higher Education 2022. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses 

The university has 3 campuses with the main campus being located in Gwanak-gu and two other campuses in Daehangno and Pyeongchang. The university has 16 colleges, 1 Graduate school and 9 professional schools. The university offers 83 undergraduate degree programs and for Master's and Doctoral programs, there is 1 Graduate school with 99 programs from 5 fields of study. In addition to these factors, the university is also known for its infrastructural facilities This university also provides international students with the option of on-campus employment opportunities.
