Established in 1923, Lamar University Beaumont was previously known as South Park Junior College with 125 students enrolled during its first fall semester. Now, nearly a century later, Lamar University has become home to over 15,000 students providing more than 139-degree programs across numerous faculties. With more than 15,000 students calling Lamar University their home, it is also one of the fastest-growing institutions in Texas. As a member of the Texas State University System, Lamar University has inexpensive average tuition fees as compared to any university system in the state. Lamar University has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which allows the university to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees. Lamar University is also one of the top universities in the US, recognized by both US News and World Report as well as QS World University Rankings.

Lamar University has a 300-acre campus, the institute boasts of providing you with everything you need to succeed. Those selected to study here will get to select from 100 undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs across different disciplines. Students can choose from a variety of options when it comes to the courses and degrees available. Currently, Lamar University provides 139-degree programs through five bachelor's colleges, one graduate, and one honors college.
