The Eindhoven University of Technology is a public technical university in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. When the Dutch government established the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven (THE) on June 23, 1956, as the Eindhoven University of Technology, it became the second institute of its sort in the Netherlands, with the Delft University of Technology being the first. A Young University that was founded to educate the Engineers and Designers of tomorrow, Eindhoven combines scientific curiosity with a hands-on mentality through its academic programs. Today, the University also ranks in the top 1% of universities worldwide for its cooperation with the industry.
