Entrepreneurs from the north of France launched EDHEC Business School in 1906. "EDHEC" is an acronym for "École des Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord," which translates to "School of Higher Education in Business Administration from the North." Motte Duthoit, a leading textile manufacturer and the mayor of Roubaix, France, purchased the land that today houses EDHEC's headquarters, known as "La campagne." At La Campagne, legendary architect Gréber created a Manor house in the Anglo-Norman style to Motte Duthoit's specifications. The Manor, which was once the residence of the Motte family, currently functions as a training centre for EDHEC Executive Education. EDHEC holds the triple accreditation from EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and Association of MBAs (AMBA). EDHEC is among the greatest business schools in France and beyond. For the fourth year in a row, EDHEC Business School has been ranked among the top ten European business schools in the Financial Times list of European Best Business Schools.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
Lille, Nice, Paris, London, and Singapore are among the School's five sites. The Lille Campus, which is environmentally friendly, entrepreneurial, and conveniently located in the city, symbolises the EDHEC Business School's vibrancy as well as its innovative strategy. Lille is also home to the EDHEC Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) Incubator, as well as its network and partners, demonstrating EDHEC's commitment to fostering and supporting entrepreneurial endeavours. The campus facilities include 21 lecture halls, 35 lecture rooms, 4 computer rooms, 760 seats in the auditorium, 2 music rooms, 3 200 m² of sports facilities and 3 restaurants. In total, the business school has around 8600 students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programmes. EDHEC has over 110 nationalities represented on campus, with international students accounting for 35% of the student body. Both English and French are used in the classroom.
