University of Manitoba: An Overview

Established almost 140 years ago, the University of Manitoba became the first degree-granting institution west of southern Ontario. It’s the largest university in the province of Manitoba by total student enrolment and campus area, and a member of Canada’s 15 research-intensive universities. The University of Manitoba has two main campuses in Winnipeg: Fort Garry and Bannatyne. 

The former is the larger and more traditional of the two, while the latter is located in the downtown core and focused on professional programs. UM offers over 100 undergraduate degrees, diplomas, and certificates, including professional disciplines like medicine, law, and engineering.
