Between October 2022 and September 2023, The US Embassy and consulates in India have set a remarkable record by granting over 1,40,000 student visas. By doing this, it is a marvelous milestone in educational migration.
As reported by the US State Department a near-record allocation of nonimmigrant visas internationally, surpassing 10 million from October 2022 to September 2023, showing a great demand for travel and international purposes.
Approx half of the US embassies and consulates internationally settled the biggest number of nonimmigrant visas ever, showing an utmost surge in visa applications and their approvals.
Visitor Visas On A Surge
The US Embassy showed that about 8M visitor visas for business and tourism were granted during the mentioned period, marking the highest from 2015.
Focusing on a considerable devotion to education, in the 2023 fiscal year the US embassy and consulates in India granted over 600,000 student visas, it is also the highest number since fiscal Year 2017, exhibiting a growing interest in US academic opportunities.
The State Department assigned these accomplishments to new solutions, including interview waiver authorities, streamlining visa renewal for habitual travelers meeting strict security standards.
The announcement outlined upcoming strategies, specifying a focus on finding new technologies to smooth operations, with a particular significance on the potential for domestic renewal in particular visa categories.
US Mission In India Processed Over 1 Million Nonimmigrant Visa
In 2023 the US Mission in India processed over 1 million nonimmigrant visa applications, showing the strong travel relationship between India and the USA. Last year more than 1.2 million Indians visited the US.
Moreover, Indians now contribute more than 10 percent of all visa applicants globally, with contributions in specific categories: 20 percent of all student visa applicants and 65 per cent of all H&L-category (employment) visa applicants.
