The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is a scholarship to pursue full-time master’s study in Wales. The benefit is an amount of up to £10,000 towards the tuition fees. The Welsh Government, Universities in Wales, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, and the British Council fund the scholarship through the Global Wales Programme. The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship is only available to students from India, Vietnam, the USA, Canada, and the EU. Those outside the specified countries are not eligible to apply. Under this scheme, all universities in Welsh provide scholarships. However, the student must have already applied for a place of study in an eligible postgraduate course. The deadline for the scholarship application is on Tuesday 30th April 2024.
Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Eligibility
The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship is the first of its first-of-its-kind scholarship. To apply, students must be eligible. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Must be a citizen of India, Vietnam, EU, or USA
- Additionally, the student must be classed as an overseas fee-paying student for tuition fee purposes.
- The student must have already applied to study at an eligible postgraduate program at any of the eligible Welsh universities.
- Additionally, the student must start their postgraduate studies in September 2024.
Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Application Process
Students can make up to 3 scholarship applications to different Welsh universities. However, they must have already applied for the courses and the universities they are seeking a scholarship for. The scholarship application form is available on the official website- https://www.studyinwales.ac.uk/. Once, the application is sent any change is not possible.
The scholarship administrators will require selected students to review and sign a scholarship contract. Students who do not return these documents before the deadline will forfeit the scholarship. Additionally, the administrators will transfer the award to another recipient. The scholarship beneficiaries agree to act as an ambassadors for the Study in Wales brand. Therefore, the beneficiary may have to participate in events and promotional activities.
