All students who wish to study abroad in Australia will now be able to pursue their higher education in Australia. Starting July 1, all international students will be able to study labour shortage courses.
Moreover, the good news is that students will also live and work in Australia for an extended period of time. This change has been brought up for all international higher education graduates who are eligible will be granted an extra two years of post-study work rights.
While international students who are enrolling in courses like teaching, engineering and nursing will be eligible for a two-year extension of post-study work privileges.
The list of eligible courses includes Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Engineering, Master of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Agricultural Science and others.
Post-Study Work Increases
All the extensions will increase from two years to four years for some Bachelor’s degrees as well as Master’s degrees. All Doctoral degrees’ duration will increase from four years to six years.
As per the Department of Education, Government of Australia, there are almost 3,000 courses which are available. All international graduates planning to enrol in these courses will get their Temporary Graduate visa extended for another two years.
What is a Temporary Graduate Visa?
A Temporary Graduate visa is for all those international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian university. With this visa, the student will get to live, work and study in Australia, but temporarily.
