Study Abroad in the USA: IIE Has Plans to Enhance Equity, Access, and Diversity as per the New Center
The IIE has plans to introduce a center for Equity and Access, which will be aimed at boosting access to the international students.

The centre will primarily be focused on three different areas: Partnerships and Programs, Global Access and Learning for underdeveloped communities to address the numerous issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

This will help international students with more targeted funding so that they can leverage the benefits of more effective educational opportunities.

The Executive VP and chief administrative officer, Courtney Temple, spoke with The PIE and stated that the proper work of the centres will provide IR with numerous opportunities to become more focused on equity and access.

Temple also stated that this would work as an umbrella where they will be able to focus properly on coming up with proper measurements of the progress.

As per the initial focus area, the centre will prioritize developing partnerships with Dickinson College, which took place in 2020. More initiatives will be considered under the umbrella as well as the partnership arm.

She explained that there are high numbers of international students who want to leverage the benefits of their study abroad dream from the Institute of International Education.

The American Passport Project from the IIE will also grant more than 10,000 passports to international students for the next ten years. This will prove beneficial for the students who are unable to receive access to their study abroad plans.

The partner universities of IIE will award the passport to international students, especially first-year graduates who are in a socioeconomic group or fulfilled the eligibility criteria.

They have plans to select at least 40 students from different parts of the world for each cycle of the passport process.
