Study Abroad: Fully Funded Singapore International Graduate Award Available to Doctoral Students 

Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a fully funded scholarship program meant to assist international students wanting to complete their doctoral studies in Singapore.  As a part of the scholarship scheme, students can study in 3 partner universities. That is, the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). However, the beneficiaries need to do their research in physical science, biomedical science, or engineering.

Singapore is a preferred study-abroad destination among international students. The country is the gateway to the fastest-growing economies in the Asia Pacific region. Therefore, SINGA is beneficial in pursuing a Ph.D., establishing global links, and advancing research. The deadline for the scholarship application is 1st December 2023 for the January intake. The Singapore International Graduate Award benefits are as follows:

  • Exemption from the entire tuition fee
  • Additionally, the beneficiary would receive a monthly stipend of SGD 2000 (INR 1.22 lakh). However, the amount will be increased to SGD 2700 (INR 1.65 lakh) per month after the student has cleared the qualifying examination.
  • Moreover, a one-time settlement award of SGD1000/INR 61234.47 is available
  • One-time airfare is  included in the benefits
  • Additionally, the grant holder’s spouse is also eligible to relocate
  • Guidance from international researchers regarding building a global research career, getting practical experience, and creating goodwill with the fellows is also given.

Interested students can visit the official website of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research to fill out the online application. Moreover, applicants must submit documents such as Ph.D. research projects, academic transcripts, a passport, letters of certificate from institutes, two letters of recommendation, proof of English language proficiency, and recent photographs.  The deadline for the SINGA application is 1st December 2023 for the January intake.
