The Mathematics Admissions Test exam date for the year 2025 has been released by Oxford University. There will be no change in the exam date. Therefore, you must prepare accordingly. Pearson VUE will conduct the examination at authorised test centres worldwide. Indian students can also apply for the same. There are 20 authorised test centres in India, among which you can choose your exam centre, book your slot, and take the exam.

The MAT exam registration must be done in advance. You can only register through the Pearson VUE online portal for Oxford applicants. The MAT test date registration and other key details are provided below:

How to Register for the MAT Oxford Exam Online?

You can register for the MAT Oxford examination online at Pearson VUE. The registration process is as follows. Ensure that you have a UCAS application number before registering. Registration cannot be done without a UCAS application number. The registration  steps for the MAT test date are provided below:

  1. Register via the Oxford Admissions Test Registration portal (Pearson VUE)
  2. During the registration process, you can request to access the arrangements (accommodation/any reasonable adjustments), provided you have the necessary proof to show that you require such service. It will take 5 days to process standard arrangements, like extra time
  3. Thereafter, you can access the booking link through the portal dashboard 
  4. Choose a test centre, and then book your examination 
  5. The MAT exam will be conducted as per schedule on 22 & 23 October 2025.

How Many Times is the MAT Exam  Conducted in a Year in 2025?

The Mathematics Admissions Test is only conducted once a year. The MAT Oxford Exam date 2025 is 22nd October and 23rd October 2025. Therefore, the results of this year’s exam cannot be carried forward to the next academic cycle. The MAT exam results are declared in the month of January next year.

How Much Does It Cost to Take the MAT Exam for Oxford?

Can I Reschedule the MAT Test Date for Oxford?

Yes. You can reschedule the MAT for Oxford to change the time or location of your booking. However, the examination rescheduling can be done only within the provided timeline. Changes can only be made if there is availability. You can reschedule your exam using the Pearson VUE platform or by contacting the Pearson VUE customer service. You can also choose to cancel your examination. However, this must be done within the provided time.

Things You Can Take With You on the MAT Test Date

As an Oxford University applicant, you must know what you can take to the exam hall. The following are the things you must and can take with you. We have also included some things.

  1. Aadhar card (Original)- Indian applicants need to present their Aadhar card as identification proof. A printout copy is not acceptable.
  2. Print out the candidate rules– This is provided during the check-in process.
  3. Water bottle-You can keep it in the locker before you enter the exam hall.
  4. Non-electronic earplugs-You can bring these inside the examination hall. However, inspection will be done.
  5. Eyeglasses and Religious headwear- You are allowed to wear it, but inspection will be done.

What you cannot take to the exam hall are: Any outdoor clothing (like a hat or a coat), personal belongings like books, notes, electronic devices, notepaper, calculators, watches, photographic devices, wallets, bags, hats, pens, writing utensils, mascots, sweets or any kind of food or drink.

What MAT Score is Needed for Oxford?

There is no minimum MAT score you can secure for Oxford admissions. On average, all applicants are able to score around 50. However, do not get shortlisted for an interview. The shortlisted candidates generally have a score of 68 or above. The higher you score in this paper more likely you are to be called for an interview. Those who clear the interview and eventually get an admission offer usually have a score of 78 or above.
