Q- Describe a time when you missed or were late for an important meeting/event.
You should say:
- When it happened
- What happened
- Why you missed/were late for it
- And explain how you felt about this experience
Ans- I remember a time when I missed an important meeting with my academic advisor at university. It was during my second year, and I had arranged to meet with her to discuss my academic progress and plans for the future.
Unfortunately, on the day of the meeting, I overslept and woke up late. When I realized the time, I quickly got dressed and rushed out of my dormitory. However, I had missed the bus that I usually take to the university, so I had to wait for the next one, which took longer than usual to arrive. By the time I arrived on campus, I was already more than 30 minutes late for the meeting.
I felt terrible about missing the meeting because I knew it was important, and I did not want to give the impression that I did not take my academic progress seriously. I also knew that my academic advisor was a busy person, and I felt bad for wasting her time.
When I eventually met with my advisor later that day, I apologized profusely for missing the meeting and explained what had happened. She was understanding and rescheduled the meeting for the following week, but I still felt embarrassed and disappointed in myself for letting this happen.
This experience taught me the importance of being responsible and punctual, especially when it comes to important events and meetings. I learned to set multiple alarms and plan my schedule more carefully to ensure that I am always on time. Overall, I felt that this experience was a valuable lesson, and I have been much more conscientious about being punctual ever since.
