TAGE 2: An Overview

The FNEGE (Fondation Nationale pour l’Enseignement de la Gestion des Entreprises) or the National Foundation for the Teaching of Business Management in France conducts the TAGE 2 examination. The exam is held worldwide in recognised test centres, and both national and international students can register for it. You should take this exam if you want to enrol in:

  1. Bachelor’s programs (Licence 3 / Year 3 entry) in business, economics, management, Marketing, International Business, etc.
  2. First year of Master’s programs (Master 1) in business or management at certain schools

This is a French aptitude test and not a knowledge-based test. Hence, no specific management skills are required to clear this examination. The exam is held in an MCQ format, is versatile, and is meant to test your skills. You can take this test twice during a calendar year.

Fun Fact: TAGE 2 exam is only for students who know French. The MCQ test is completely in the French language!

TAGE 2 Exam Format

TAGE 2 is a skill-based test of your verbal, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills. The exam consists of a total of 70 questions. You will be given about one hour and 55 minutes to complete the test. The exact exam format is given below:

Note: The exam is scored out of a total of 210 points. There is a one mark deduction for wrong answers, and no marks are awarded for unanswered questions.

TAGE 2 Exam Fees

The fees for international students are a bit higher than those for national students. The fees for the TAGE 2 examination are as follows. The fees, once submitted, are non-refundable. The fees can be paid online during your registration process.

Registration Process for the TAGE 2

You can only register for the exam twice in a year. That is, once during semester 1 ( January to June) and a second time in semester 2 ( July to December). Before registering, ensure that you have a valid email address. The registration process is as follows:

  1. First, visit the official website of the TAGE 2 
  2. Secondly, go to the top bar menu for registration and choose account creation
  3. Enter your email address and sign up. Thereafter, log in.
  4. Fill in your details and select your exam centre
  5. Pay the required fee and submit your registration form 
  6. Wait for a confirmation email of registration

Ensure that you are filling the civil status section of the registration form the same as your identification documents. For example, a national identification card, a passport, and a driver’s license. During the registration process, you might be required to send in scanned copies of certain documents, such as your academic transcripts or certificates. If asked, you must submit the same. Once registered, you can take the test directly through the establishment that requests it, or based on a session organised by FNEGE.

Business Schools in France That Require FNEGE TAGE 2

Here is a list of the trade schools that require you to clear this examination. These schools often mandatorily ask students to submit their test results. However, it is important to remember that some schools do accept alternative test scores and consider your overall application as an alternative to the TAGE 2 test. Steps to View Your FREGE TAGE 2 Results 

The exam results are usually available within a few days to a week after the test date. However, the exact date of the results would depend on the exam testing centre.  You will be notified by email about your results.

  1. You can view your results by visiting the official website and logging into your account. 
  2. Once you have logged in, navigate to my profile, then my results page
  3. If you took the exam through the institution, click on the same option available 
  4. Enter your email address and 6-digit registration number  as a password to view the results 
  5. Once verification is complete, you can view your results.

Exam Centres

The FNGE TAGE 2 exam centres are located in several countries. The main centres are in France. Apart from France, you can find test centres in:

  1. USA
  2. Brazil 
  3. China

India does not have a test centre. Hence, if you intend to take the exam, you will have to travel to France or a country with a recognised test centre to take the test.

Difficulty Level of TAGE 2 Exam

The exam difficulty level is based on individual skills. Let’s say you have strong French language skills and analytical skills. In this case, the exam difficulty level will be moderate for you. However, those with weak French language skills can find the paper to be difficult.

The exam assumes you have basic knowledge of mathematics, logic, and verbal reasoning. Hence, those who are weak in these areas can find the paper challenging. Another thing that can make the paper challenging is time management. You are required to solve a lot of questions in a limited time frame. Hence, you must know time management; otherwise, you risk being unable to complete the paper.  Hence, we can say that the exam difficulty level is based on individual strengths and skills.

Here are five practical tips to help you prepare for the TAGE 2 examination. Preparation is essential to score well in the examination. 

  1. Understand the examination format, particularly all the sub-tests
  2. Focus on building strong French language skills. For example, read articles, reports, and management texts in French regularly.
  3. Practice logical reasoning questions. Learn ratios, percentages, and basic algebra. Also learn about pattern recognition, sequences, and spatial reasoning.
  4. Take full-length practice tests and review your scores. Understand which sections take the most time, and where you make mistakes, and work on your weak areas.
  5. Lastly, while practising questions, notice how much time you are taking to answer a question. Use official practice materials, and other resources and learn time management strategies
