About Centria University Finland

Centria University of Applied Sciences Finland is “a university with a big heart” in the institute’s own words. It was established in 1992 as a result of a merger between three regional colleges in Kokkola, Pietarsaari, and Ylivieska. Today, it has about 4400 students and 340 staff members. It offers degree programs in engineering, business, social and health care, culture, humanities, and education. Centria UAS is also one of the most international universities in Finland, with around 25% of its students coming from outside Finland and representing more than 40 different nationalities.

Centria University Finland has a mission to provide students with skills and competencies to work in various expert, planning, and development positions in their working lives. It also focuses on promoting regional development and innovation through research, development, and service activities.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible to apply for Centria University Finland, you need to meet the following requirements:

Since students from EU/EEA countries have to pay the tuition fee, Centria University Finland also provides scholarships for them. These scholarships are given based on the academic performance and the number of credits completed in the previous academic year. They are as follows:

  1. Early bird discount: Students who accept the study place and pay the tuition fee within two weeks after the notification will get a 1500 € discount from the first year’s tuition fee.
  2. 50% scholarship: Students who complete 60 ECTS (study credits) in the previous academic year will get a 50% waiver from the second and following year’s tuition fee.

To apply for the scholarship, students need to fill in the scholarship application form that will be sent to them by emailduring September/October every fall. The scholarship will NOT be granted for studies exceeding the regular completion time.
