History of Celebrating World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
In a UNESCO general session in 2005, a proposal to observe a World Day for Audiovisual Heritage was adopted. Finally, on October 27, 2007, the first World Day for Audiovisual Heritage was observed.
The main goal of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is to increase public awareness of the need for immediate action.
This day was created to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting priceless audiovisual treasures for future generations. This day also emphasises how crucial it is to keep history intact and make it available to the general people.
