In the view of Mandela, courage is feeling not just without any presence of fear but to get victory over the odds. A man can be brave not necessarily when he does not feel fear or unafraid of anyone or anything but when he can conquer or get victory by overcoming his fears.
The inspiration or belief in this definition was derivative of seeing the warriors and freedom fighters. They f for their country, rights, and values while sacrificing their own valuable lives selflessly to get freedom from the oppressors.
