Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi 2023

Lord Ganesha, the beloved son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was created by Parvati through sandalwood paste. One day, he was guarding the bath entrance for Mother Parvati and he restricted Lord Shiva from entering inside. 

This led to a battle against Lord Shiva and he lost his head. Goddess Parvati cried and grieved a lot and to console her Lord Shiva attached the head of an elephant to Ganesh. That’s why he is referred to as Lord Ganesha. He is the symbol of wisdom and intelligence.
