Fourth G20 IWG Meeting All Set to Take Place Today and Tomorrow

The fourth G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) hosted by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is scheduled to take place in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, from September 21st to 22nd.

The Infrastructure Working Group deliberations during India’s G20 Presidency came to a close at this meeting, which included around 54 participants from G20 member countries and other organisations that India had invited.

With a focus on developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting high-quality urban infrastructure, Infratech, and innovative instruments for mobilising financial resources to invest in resilient, sustainable, and inclusive urban infrastructure, the G20 Infrastructure Working Group plays a crucial role in discussing various aspects of infrastructure investments.

What Will Be The Meeting’s Agenda?

The meeting will include the finalization of the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda, such as the World Bank report as well as the compilation of Infrastructure Taxonomies and the Infrastructure Tracker tool to monitor all the investments. These will include payments made in infrastructure sectors by different countries.

Who Will Be Part of This Event?

Renowned institutions such as the World Bank, the OECD, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as well as public and private sector stakeholders, will discuss challenges and how to help cities mobilise private and commercial finance for infrastructure development.

The two-day event will witness official meetings as well as cultural programs for all those delegates who will participate. 

In conjunction with the IWG meeting, discussions will be held in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to explore mechanisms for scaling up private sector investments in urban infrastructure.
