Children’s Day is celebrated every year on 14 November. This day is celebrated to mark the birth of our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Why Do We Celebrate Children’s Day?
Every year, we celebrate Children’s Day on 14 November, since 1964 in India. This day is celebrated to mark the birth of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. For all those who don’t know, Lt. Jawaharlal Nehru loved being with children and believed that they were the future of our nation.
He left a tremendous legacy behind, children would often call him “Chacha Nehru” or “Chachaji”. Apart from this, he believed in equality and advocated that every child should be provided with equal rights to education, health and safety.
On this day, sweets are distributed in every school and teachers usually celebrate this day with a lot of enthusiasm.

Good morning, dear students, fellow teachers and staff. We commemorate Children’s Day today, a day that honours the most priceless gifts we have ever received: our children.
We all know that our country’s future lies in the hands of the future generation as well. They are the ones who will advance knowledge and pass it on to the future generation. As teachers, it is our responsibility to support their minds and enable them to realise their full potential.
Children are similar to seeds. They have a lot of potential however, they require the correct circumstances to develop and thrive. It is very important that we as teachers to whom students look up give our students access to a good education and a secure and caring environment. We also need to support them in pursuing their hobbies and skill development.
Therefore, on this Children’s Day, I would like to remind everyone how important it is to defend children’s rights. Children are entitled to a loving and safe environment, healthcare, and education. They also have the right to be shielded from mistreatment and exploitation.
Let us all teachers pledge to protect their rights and help them discover their passion. Happy Children’s Day to all.
