Dear Gaurav,
I hope this letter finds you in good spirits. As my time at school comes to an end, I wanted to share some exciting news with you about my plans. Since childhood, I’ve always harboured deep-seated ambitions to become an IAS officer. It’s a dream that has always fueled my passion and guided my choices throughout my academic journey. Now that I’m preparing to leave school, I’m more determined than ever to pursue this goal.

I’ve decided to take the UPSC exam to clear the path towards realizing my dream of becoming an IAS officer. I believe that serving the community and making a positive impact on society is my true calling, and I see civil services as the perfect avenue to fulfil this aspiration.

I know that the road ahead won’t be easy, and there will be obstacles to overcome along the way. However, I’m undeterred by the challenges because I believe in the importance of the work I aspire to do as an IAS officer. Your friendship has always been a source of strength and support for me, and I’m grateful to have you by my side as I embark on this new chapter of my life.

Your encouragement and belief in me mean the world, and I know that with your friendship, I can overcome any obstacle that comes my way. I’ll keep you updated on my progress as I prepare for the UPSC exam, and I hope that you’ll continue to cheer me on from the sidelines. And, of course, I’m eager to hear about your plans and aspirations as well.

Thank you for being such an incredible friend. Here’s to chasing our dreams and making them a reality!

Warm Regards,
Aayushi

Dear Karan,

I hope you are doing well. Our school days are coming to an end, so I wanted to share my future plans with you. After I leave school, I want to become a computer engineer, as I enjoy working with computers and solving technical problems. You already know that I built a small calculator app last year using basic coding. When I read that India’s IT sector employs over 54 lakh people, I realised that this field has a lot of scope for us.

After Class 10, I plan to take the Science stream with PCM, because these subjects are necessary for engineering. I also want to start preparing for JEE Main, as around 12–13 lakh students appear for this exam every year to enter good engineering colleges. I am thinking of joining a coaching centre near my house that offers evening batches so I can manage both schoolwork and entrance preparation.

Along with that, I want to learn Python and Java, as many top companies use these languages. I found an online course that takes 12 weeks, which I plan to start after exams. My elder cousin who works at an IT company in Pune told me that early practice in programming gives a big advantage in placements.

I feel excited because I love working with technology, but I also know it will require discipline and hard work. Do tell me what you are planning to do after school. I will be happy to know your goals too.

Yours lovingly,
Amit

Dear Sneha,

I hope you and your family are in good health. As our final year in school is almost over, I want to share my future plans with you. I have decided to choose the Arts stream after Class 10 because I am truly interested in reading, writing, and understanding current events. I enjoy writing short articles for school activities, and my English teacher told me that journalism would be a good field for me.

After leaving school, I want to study subjects like Political Science, English, and Sociology, because these subjects help journalists understand society better. I recently read that the media and communication industry in India is growing at around 8-10% every year, and more than 2,000 colleges offer journalism and mass communication courses. This gives students like us many opportunities to build a strong career.

I also plan to join the school’s newsletter and debate club, as these activities help in improving public speaking, writing skills, and confidence, skills that every journalist needs. After Class 12, I want to apply for a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) course. Many colleges offer internships with news channels and newspapers, which help students gain real experience. I read that new reporters often start with field reporting, collecting facts, interviewing people, and writing short news stories.

I feel very excited about this path because journalism will allow me to learn new things every day and share important information with people. Please write back and tell me about your future plans too.

Your friend,
Riya
