Dear Father,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to share with you my growing desire to join the Indian Army after finishing my academics.
I know you have always wished for me to pursue higher education and build a career in engineering or medicine. I have given both options serious thought before deciding to serve the nation by joining the Indian army. I never told you but it has been my childhood dream and the urge has only grown stronger with time.

One of the biggest reasons to join the army is that I want to make you proud. You as an army person served the country for 30 years. You have always been my role model. Your immense courage, discipline, and patriotism inspired me regularly. I wish to follow in your footsteps and join the honorable profession you are devoted to. Protecting the Indian borders and the citizens would make my life worthwhile. I do not seek money or fame instead I only want to serve with honor like you did.

I also believe that I have the qualities to be a good soldier. I have been preparing my mind and body through hard workouts, sports, and yoga. Your upbringing has raised me to grow with a tough mental state in facing challenges. I know the training of the academy will be hard but I am ready to embrace it because the training of the army will groom me into a strong and capable leader. With all the required skills, I hope to make meaningful contributions to our country.

As a child seeing you in uniform always filled me with pride. Hearing the stories of brave stories always filled my heart with excitement. While my friends wanted corporate jobs, I grew up visualizing myself as an army officer. Now that I am about to complete my education, I wish to turn my dream into reality. I sincerely hope that you will support me in this decision.

I promise that I will make you promise as your son and live up to the standards of the Indian Army. Please don’t forget to guide me in making this dream a reality.

Your loving son,
Aditya

Dear Daddy,
I hope you are in good health. Daddy, with this letter I wish to discuss my desire to appear for the CDS exam and join the Indian Army. I understand that you might be surprised by this decision. Allow me to explain what draws me to make my career as an army person.

The main factor motivating me is that I believe that this career will challenge me to go beyond my perceived limits. The meticulous physical training and mental conditioning will give a strong base for the decisions that I have to make as an army person. Under able commanders, I will learn skills to overcome obstacles confidently. All this practice will help me lead the troops with courage in times of war and will give me the ultimate sense of fulfilment.

Most of all, being a part of the Indian army was always my dream that was shaped during school. I was always inspired by reading about heroes and watching patriotic movies. While my friends chose other paths, I knew being an army officer was what I was meant to do. Now, that I am about to complete my school, I wish to turn this aspiration into reality.

I sincerely hope you will support my decision. Please guide me with your experiences of values and disciplines that you follow in your real life. With your blessings, I know I will succeed in this noble profession. I promise to live up to the Army values and do my best to serve the nation.

Your Loving Son,
Shreyash
