ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme has been a boon to all the sportspersons who cannot continue due to a lack of funds. ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme Objective 

The objective of the ONGC sports scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to talented sportspersons. Therefore, the scholarship is provided to young and talented athletes who excel in their respective sports. The maximum scholarship benefit is INR 30,000.

ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme Amount 

The players at different levels get different amounts of the scholarship that the authorities decide. A total of 250 scholarships are given out to the players through ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme. Candidates falling under the following categories will be given the sums specified by the authorities:

ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Criteria 

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Sports Scholarship Scheme every year for candidates who wish to pursue their career in sports but don’t have adequate funds for it. To fill in the application form for this scholarship scheme a candidate needs to be eligible. Here is a list of eligibility criteria that a candidate needs to know about. Let’s have a look at them:

• Only the applicants who are citizens of India are eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme. 
• A candidate should not be less than 14 years of age. 
• The maximum age for applying to this scholarship scheme is 25. Any candidate who is older than 25 cannot apply for this scholarship scheme. 
• The scholarship is provided at the end of the financial year monthly. 
• All the selections will be made on a merit basis for ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme. 
• To be eligible for this scholarship scheme a candidate must not avail of any other scholarship/ stipend from another organisation during this ONGC scholarship period. 

(Note: The minimum age for Chess, Gymnastics and Swimming is 10 years)

Benefits and Facilities to Sportspersons

Several benefits and facilities are provided to the selected students. These facilities can be availed by talented sportspersons. The benefits and facilities of the ONGC scholarship are as follows:

• Get an opportunity to represent the ONGC team in the PSPB/AIPSSPB. Moreover, the selected beneficiaries can take part in competitions on the advice of the head of sports.
• The selected beneficiaries would receive sports kits with the ONGC logo. The selected sportspersons would need to wear it during competitions.
• Individual insurance cover of INR 5 lakhs for self is available 
• Other than this, the selected students would receive other scholarship benefits.
