Tata Institute of Social Science administers the Tata Institute of Social Science National Entrance Test to students seeking admission to MA studies across multiple TISS institutions. TISSNET is a 1 hour and 40 minutes CBT-based examination. TISSSNET’s question paper will be split into three sections: general awareness, English proficiency, math, and logical reasoning. The examination is in English and the question paper has 100 questions. In the TISSNET exam, there is going to be no negative grading. The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has established the eligibility requirements for the TISSNET 2023. To avoid rejection, candidates must verify the qualifying criteria before submitting an application for TISSNET 2023. The following are the TISSNET 2023 eligibility requirements:
- Candidates in the final year of their UG study can apply for TISSNET 2023, but they must submit their final year results by the deadline set by the test-conducting organisation. Until then, admission is considered provisional; if an applicant does not comply, admission will be revoked.
- Candidates must have a minimum of three years of UG degree from an accredited educational institution.
Application Process
TISS begins accepting applications in December. Candidates interested in attending TISS must complete the registration procedure by February. In the TISSNET application procedure, candidates must fill out an application form with their personal and academic information. They must also upload any needed documents and qualifications in the specified size. Candidates may apply for 3 programmes at TISS’s two campuses using the same application form. They must, however, pay the application cost for all three programmes chosen. Candidates are urged not to fill out multiple applications, as this may result in the deletion of all forms.

- Pay the required fee with a debit/credit card or using net banking.
- Take a printout and save it for future use.
Candidates who do not have internet access or live in distant locations can fill out the TISSNET application form offline by printing it. They must also follow the same method as online candidates. Exam Pattern
Candidates studying for the entrance exam may review the TISSNET 2023 exam pattern. The TISSNET 2023 exam pattern contains essential exam information such as the marking, Exam duration, total marks and questions. TISSNET 2023 is entirely administered in CBT format.
TISSNET is a nationwide admission exam that contains multiple-choice questions on math, reasoning, English proficiency, and general knowledge. The TISSNET exam pattern also provides applicants with a better grasp of the types of questions that will be asked in the entrance exam. TISSNET takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete. Final Selection Process
The TISSNET 2023 selection process has begun on the 13th of April 2023. Candidates who have submitted the Complete Application Form and have been shortlisted will be allowed to take the Online Assessments on the scheduled date. TISS will announce the merit list for admission to MA based on the candidates’ performance in Online Assessments. The ultimate outcome of the TISSNET 2023 selection procedure will be released in the last week of June 2023.
The previous year, TISS, Mumbai reorganised the admission procedure, which was completed entirely online. The varsity cancelled the Pre-Interview Test phase and conduct online interviews for the final candidate selection. This will determine the candidate’s selection in the chosen programme. The Online Assessment will be split into two parts
Extempore
Candidates will be required to submit their thoughts on the topic allocated by the panellist. The topic will be something related to the study programme. The presentation must last no more than 2-3 minutes. Candidates may also request a different topic if they are uncomfortable with the first.
Personal Interview
In the Personal Interview, the members of the panel will be interacting with the candidates to assess their drive, planning, interest, and subject skills. Candidates’ awareness of economic and social issues will also be evaluated in this round.
