How to Calculate your CMAT Scores Using Formula?
The method for obtaining the CMAT percentile score from the raw score on the CMAT exam was incorporated by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The CMAT percentile is calculated using a formula that considers many factors such as the number of students who took the exam, the exam’s overall and sectional difficulty, and the raw score out of 400 possible points.
Calculation of CMAT Score Using Formula
You can use the following calculation to get your CMAT score:
Percentile=100−(Candidate’s Rank/Total Number of Candidates appeared×100) |
The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the CMAT. They display your score as a whole, how you compare to other candidates, and where you stand in India. This is the CMAT 2024 marking scheme:
- Correct response earns +4 points.
- A wrong response deducts one point.
- No negative marking is followed.
How to Determine Your CMAT Score?
The sum of the marks you receive or receive in each section of the CMAT exam is your CMAT score. Each component is marked, and the total is added up to determine your CMAT Total Score (out of 400).

Factors Affecting CMAT Score vs Percentile
Candidates are ranked by the CMAT percentile according to how well they performed in the exam. It displays a candidate’s ability in comparison to other applicants on the merit list. The percentage that a candidate scores in relation to other eligible candidates determines this percentile.
- The exam’s difficulty level, the number of test-takers, and the number of seats available in participating institutes are among the various factors that affect the percentile, which isn’t constant and varies annually.
- All India Rank (AIR) and raw scores are shown on the CMAT results (scorecard), but the percentile is not displayed.
- The CMAT score calculation percentile is a useful tool for candidates to evaluate their performance and predict their expected cutoff.
