GMAT vs CMAT: Exam Conducting Body
GMAT: The GMAT exam is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council.
CMAT: The CMAT exam is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
GMAT vs CMAT: Eligibility Criteria
GMAT: When appearing for the GMAT exam, you must make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria, you must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final-year graduates can also apply for this exam, provided that you submit the final degree later on.
CMAT: Similarly, final-year students can also take this exam with an equivalent degree from a recognised university.

GMAT vs CMAT: Frequency/Mode of Exam
GMAT: This exam is conducted five times a year and can be taken by the candidate 8 times in a lifetime. Candidates must register themselves for the exam two to three months before the exam. The exam is conducted in online mode (computer-based test).
CMAT: This exam is conducted once a year and is conducted in an online mode (computer-based test).
GMAT vs CMAT: Exam Pattern
GMAT: The exam contains various sections such as Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning etc.
CMAT: The CMAT exam pattern includes Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation and Language Comprehension.
GMAT vs CMAT: Exam Duration
GMAT: The GMAT exam is conducted every year in online mode (Computer-Based Test) where the exam is conducted for 3 hours and 7 minutes.
CMAT: The CMAT exam is also conducted in an online mode (Computer-based Test) and goes on for 3 hours.
GMAT vs CMAT: Difficulty Level
GMAT: The GMAT exam is not so difficult, however, it can be a bit challenging. It is very very important for the candidate to prepare their exam strategy to ace the final test.
CMAT: The CMAT exam, on the other hand, is a bit easy compared to other MBA entrance exams. Despite having an extra section, the difficulty level will come under generally moderate.
GMAT vs CMAT: Marking Scheme
GMAT: This exam has quite a different marking scheme. All candidates will be marked between 200 and 800. Section-wise, candidates will be marked somewhat like this, 1-8 for Integrated Reasoning, 0-60 for Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning and 0-6 for Analytical Writing Assessment.
CMAT: Overall, the CMAT exam comprises 100 questions where the maximum score is 400 marks. For each question, the candidate will be awarded +4 marks, while for each wrong answer, there will be a penalty of -1 mark.

GMAT vs CMAT: Exam Fee
GMAT: If you are considering taking the exam at the test centre then you will have to pay around INR 22,800. Whereas, you will have to pay INR 22,900 for taking the exam online mode.
CMAT: The fee for the CMAT exam for the General category is INR 2,000 and INR 1,000 for females and the reserved category.
GMAT vs CMAT: Validity of Exam
GMAT: After getting the scorecard, the GMAT scores are valid for a period of 5 years and available for reporting up to 10 years.
CMAT: Whereas, these scores are valid for one year only.
