UPSC Prelims Registration Process

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims registration for 2024 has already closed on March 6th,(however) you can be prepared for next year’s exam by familiarizing yourself with the process. Here’s a breakdown of the UPSC Prelims registration process:

One-Time Registration (OTR):

  • This is mandatory for applying online for UPSC exams. You register once and can use it for future UPSC applications.
  • Don’t create multiple OTR IDs as it can lead to application rejection.

UPSC Online Application:

  • Visit the UPSC’s official website
  • Click on “Apply Online” under the “Exam Notifications” tab.
  • Select the link for Civil Services (Preliminary) exam registration.

Registration Process:

The application process is usually two-part:

  • Part 1: Enter basic details like name, age, address etc.
  • Part 2: Choose the exam center, pay fees, and upload a photo, signature, and ID proof.

Important to Remember:

  • Stay updated by checking the UPSC website for the official notification for the 2025 UPSC CSE. This notification will provide the exact registration dates.
  • Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying.

It is expected that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the first week of February 2024. The exam conducting body has not released any exam datasheet yet. We have mentioned the tentative UPSC Exam dates below:

1. Age Limit- 21 to 32 years (must not have touched the 32nd year).
2. Education- Graduation (Bachelor)
3. Number of attempts- 6 Times for General, 9 Times for OBC and PwBD, Unlimited Times for SC/ST

What are the documents required to submit UPSC Prelims Application 2024?

1. Scanned copy of candidate’s photo and signature.
2. Government approved ID card
3. Academic Documents
4. Caste or any other certificate (if required)

There is no official date announced by the UPSC yet. However, it is expected that the application window for UPSC prelims exam 2024 will be open till 01 Feb to 15 Feb 2024 (Tentatively).
