AP ECET 2023 – Dates, Application Process, Eligibility, Exam Pattern

AP ECET: Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test or AP CET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada on behalf of APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education). The students who are Diploma holders of Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and B.Sc graduates are eligible to appear for AP ECET.

Candidates who successfully clear the examination are enrolled in the second-degree programs in B.Tech, B.E, and B.Pharmacy courses. Read the entire article till the end to know about the AP ECET examination.

AP ECET Exam Dates 2023

AP ECET Exam Pattern 2023

The AP ECET consists of 200 questions all of which are multiple choice type questions carrying 1 mark each. Also, if a student answers a question there is no negative marking for it. The exam is conducted through CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode and the duration of the same is 180 minutes.

AP ECET Syllabus 2023

AP ECET is conducted for three different streams which include Engineering, Pharmacy, and B.Sc streams. The test for the Engineering stream consists of 4 sections, including Pharmacy 3 sections while the test for the B.Sc degree has 3 sections, as mentioned above. 

AP ECET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to appear for AP ECET. 

1. The student should be of Indian nationality. 
2. They should belong to Andhra Pradesh. He/she should meet the requirements for local/non-local status as stated in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974. 
3. The student should have done a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh state or any other Diploma from an AICTE-approved institution recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy courses into the diploma Courses mentioned in the following table

They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized university in the state or its equivalent as stated in the table above. 

4. Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course and who have passed all the subjects before admission are eligible for entry into the relevant B.E/B.Tech/B. Pharmacy courses.

5. The student should have passed his/her Diploma in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy/B.Sc degree with at least 45% marks and the candidates belonging to the reserved category should have secured at least 40% marks in order to get admission.

AP ECET Application Process 2023

1. The online application form to register and apply for AP ECET will be available at this link- cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/ECET
2. Following details, the applicants will be required to fill out the application form-

• Qualifying examination (Diploma or Degree) hall ticket number
• SSC or 10th class hall ticket number
• Places of study from 6th class onwards 
• Caste category-Mee seva certificate number 
• Income certificate-Mee seva certificate number
• Passport size photograph in .jpg or .jpeg format of less than 30Kb size
• Ration card of the family 
• Aadhar card 

3. Payment for the application can be processed through AP online services or payment gateway (Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking). The fee for general students is Rs.600/-, Rs.550/- for OBC, and Rs.500/- for SC/ST students.  

AP ECET Admit Card 2023

The admit card for the AP ECET 2023 examination will be released on the official website of the exam conducting authority. Students can find the admit cards on 12 June 2023. Students can download the admit card by logging in, using their credentials. The candidate’s name, roll number, guidelines for examination, and dates will be mentioned on the AP ECET Admit Card 2023. Students must remember to bring their admit cards to the examination center.

How to Prepare for AP ECET 2023?

When it comes to competitive exams the only way to crack them is to strategise your preparation well. To prepare an effective strategy you need to thoroughly know the syllabus of the exam, marking scheme, and weightage of each section and topic as well. 

Manage your time effectively 

• Prepare a spreadsheet for the topics and make sure you allot and spend more time on important ones. 
• Remember your main goal should be to clear the exam and not become a subject expert therefore spend more time and focus on revision of important topics that carry more weight. 
• Give more time to difficult topics and less to easier ones. 
• Don’t forget to make a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule that includes all the targets you need to achieve in a given time. 

Solve and analyze previous year’s question papers 

• Going through the previous year’s question papers is an extremely important part of exam preparation. 
• They give you a more realistic idea of the types of questions that come, and their difficulty level and look for gaps in one’s own preparation. 
• Solving previous year’s question papers will help you to increase your speed and gauge your accuracy level. 

Preparing notes 

• Always prepare notes, especially for difficult topics so that you don’t have re-read irrelevant things again.
• Instead of making handwritten notes go for digital notes as it becomes really easy to edit and add things later on. Also, you will easily find anything you want to look at. 
• Making notes helps in revision and saves a lot of time. Do not write everything down instead try to make pointers and write everything concisely.

AP ECET Answer Key 2023

The answer key for the AP ECET 2023 examination will be made available to the students on the official website of the exam conducting authority. The authorities will release the answer key on 23 June 2023. The answer key will be helpful for the students to calculate their scores before the results for the AP ECET 2023 are announced.

AP ECET Results 2023

The AP ECET result 2023 has been declared on 2nd July 2023. Candidates can check the AP ECET Results online. Students can log in using their credentials and find their results on the official website of the exam conducting authority. The students who have qualified for the AP ECET examination will be called in for the counseling process.

To check the AP ECET 2023 result, candidates should follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Visit the official website sche.ap.gov.in/ECET
2. Click on the “Result” link, which will redirect to the result portal page.
3. Provide the required details such as stream, registration number, hall ticket number, and date of birth.
4. Click the login button to view the result on the screen.
5. Download the AP ECET 2023 result as a PDF file and print it for reference.

AP ECET Selection Process 2023

The seat allotment is based on the all-India rank achieved by the candidate, the total number of seats, and the preferences of colleges filled by the candidate at the time of filling out the application. 

After this, the candidate has to to report the allotted college on the given date. If a student for some reason fails to report to the college on the stated date, the candidature of the student will be canceled and he/she also won’t be allowed to participate in any further rounds of AP ECET counseling.
